There are too many examples of information systems that do not adequately support the needs of the business they are designed for. In this practical oriented course you will learn to effectively define and analyze business goals and derive requirements for information systems from these goals. Although the course spans the whole route from business goals to software requirements, the main focus lies on better deriving software requirements. During the course the Unified Process' Business Modeling discipline serves as a guide. This course is excellent for both starting and more experience information and systems analysts.

Overview
You start this course with an introduction of the jargon, the advantages of object oriented business modeling (UML) and the possible applications of business modeling. Next you will investigate business modeling from different perspectives. You will successively learn to model business strategy, modeling different levels of business processes and steering software development.

No educational prerequisites
You do not need specific education in order to follow this course but a basic understanding of iterative development and requirements management are highly recommended. When you do not have this knowledge ready available, take one of our courses:
